Planning Officer for 3rd Helicopter Squadron

The staff at the 3rd Helicopter Squadron is now looking for a planning officer.

About the Unit:

The 3rd Helicopter Squadron operates at Blekinge Air Force Base in Ronneby. We are one of four squadrons and belong to the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. At the squadron in Ronneby, we have about 190 employees. Our unit is housed in modern facilities where the entire squadron is gathered in a common building. Our development and growth provide many opportunities for you as an employee. The squadron's mission is primarily focused on maritime operations, which involves close cooperation with the Navy.

Job Responsibilities:

You will be part of the squadron's staff in the role of planning officer. You will mainly participate in preparations and planning of the squadron's activities in the long term, with a strong focus on exercise planning, but also partly in the execution phase. As a planning officer, you need to be structured and able to create an overview of future phases in order to create orders and decision-making materials for the squadron's leadership. Writing orders and producing other documents is a central task that requires the ability to express oneself in writing as well as to understand what is important in higher command orders and directives. Your daily tasks will primarily be carried out at the 3rd Helicopter Squadron at Blekinge Air Force Base, but travel and participation in activities outside the base may occur. You should also be prepared to work as a general staff member outside your regular area of responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Approved officer's exam, at least OF1
  • Driver's license B
  • At least 2 years of military professional experience

Desirable

  • Experience in similar positions
  • Familiarity with using the Office suite, PRIO

Personal Qualities

We see that you are meticulous, have good analytical and social skills. You are used to working both individually and in a team and have a good ability to collaborate. Engagement and responsibility are key words for the profile of the position. You can express yourself well in both speech and writing. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

The Armed Forces Helicopter Wing is a unit with both land and maritime operational focus that can operate in missions in Sweden and internationally.

Helicopter support is requested by many. For example, for personnel, material, or medical transport, command, reconnaissance, or surveillance missions. The Helicopter Wing often participates in missions and exercises with other units but also as support to society in various crisis situations.

Our operations span across Sweden, the breadth of tasks, and the size of the wing with over 950 employees provide a variation in work and opportunities for personal development. The majority of the Helicopter Wing is located in Linköping (Malmen), where we also manage Malmen Airport and Linköping Garrison, with two large units in Luleå (Kallax) and Ronneby (Kallinge).
